Veteran's Flag Plant

Willamette National Cemetery

We went with the scouts in our church to help plant flags up at the Veteran's Cemetery last week. Sawyer, of course, had a blast. He loved helping Dad plant the flags and saluting each grave!

We had so much fun doing this! Definitely a great tradition for our little family! The weather was amazing and Sawyer loved being outside. It was amazing to see all those graves...the many brave soldiers who have fought for our freedom! Willamette National Cemetery is a resting place for over 100,000 veterans and their families. They told us while we were there that it only takes 2 1/2 hours to plant all the flags on the whole cemetery because of all the volunteers. After Memorial Day...it takes the ground keepers 3 days to remove them. Anyone want to come with us next year??
